Someone once said “the brain develops better in concert with others.” The technology of our generation has allowed for increased learning and more effective communication—all of which we now do “in concert with others.” So it’s up to us to determine what to do with the wealth of information at our fingertips. We can sit back and passively watch the way the Web and the blogosphere will revolutionize our industry, or we can engage in discussion and learn from each other.
I’m excited to be part of this blog—not just to post my thoughts, but also to interact with other PR professionals who are part of such an exciting time. We all know that effective communication starts with listening. As Winston Churchill once said “courage is what it takes to stand up and speak. Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” I hope that our blog will create a forum to share ideas, but also a great venue for listening.
